How Henderson is leading the charge amongst the old school regional brokers
Like many of the well established independent UK brokers, Yorkshire broking giant Henderson often prefers to keep its cards close to its chest. Swiftcover courts musicians with fantasy line-up
Swiftcover, which received mixed publicity for its “Iggy Pop” adverts, has come up with a run down on premiums for rock icons.
Following a row over the appearance of Iggy in a TV and poster campaign, the firm chose to insure musicians rather than drop the adverts.
The Axa-owned insurer now declares itself one of the “few motor insurers to actually cover musicians” and has compiled a fantasy festival line-up of rock stars and their car insurance premiums.

Microsoft seeks to fund LTD through captive insurer
Microsoft Corp. has asked the Labor Department for authorization to fund benefit risks through the Vermont branch of its Bermuda-based captive insurance company.

Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft wants to use the Vermont branch of Orcas Ltd., its 11-year-old property and liability captive, to reinsure long-term disability policies covering about 55,000 U.S. employees written by Prudential Insurance Co. of America, according to the application filed last week by Aon Consulting.
